Coon are tearing up my dads grapes. I have tried cat food with grape jelly in Dps around the grapes. The coon show no interest. Does anyone have any ideas what bait might work better around the grapes.

Do you know where they're coming from? You may do better to find where they're coming from and/or the trails they're using to get to these grapes.

X2 blind set trails or bait the trails coming in so they hit your bait first. if using dps gang set right in the trail so they HAVE to walk around 3 or 4 different smells to get to the grape vines.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

moving back a considerable distance from the grapes if you can.

I was helping a friend with coon issues around his chickens. didn't get a single coon in a DP even with the DP's a 100 yards from the chickens and just a few yards from the den trees and small woods that seemed to be holding the coons.

of the 6 coon taken 5 were from cage traps set in trails and baited with the same dog food and fish oil as the DPs

1 in a foot hold trail set

it seems that if your going to get coons in a DP when they have a place to be you need to get that dp where they will trip over it in their path and that may not even be enough.

at a different friends place where the coons had been coming up to the house and fighting the house cats DP's in the trails entering the yard with the same cat food they were fighting the cats for worked great.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I would use a nonsweet bait, meat or fish based. I would pick the grapes. The sugar content is good now, or the coons would not be eating them.

Foot traps in blind sets around the plants. The grapes are the bait.

Like KeithC said meat or fish something different even maybe some gusto, I take it you’re trying to avoid dogs or cats, otherwise bodygrips in the runs if legal or snares. Ive had some luck with footholds in the runs but bodygrips seem to do better for me.

The only thing coons like more than grapes is sweetcorn.
