I'm currently reading The School Children's Blizzard.

Interesting book so far. Starts in Europe in the 1870s and climaxing with the 1888 blizzard that killed hundreds (significant portion at the time) in the upper plains.

That’s correct it was by Meader another good one by him with a trapping storyline is Buffalo and Beaver

Any of the books by him are worth the read

Jeff White young trapper is also a good read if you can find it, no longer in print and a collectible now with a 100 dollar plus price tag being the cheapest I have seen

The day the world , came to town. Is an account of what happened in Gander Newfoundland , Canada. On 6/11 . All US bound planes were ordered down. Something like 1100 planes and 12000 people spent quite a few days, in town. How the locals accommodated them. Newfie hospitality. Worth a read. old243

"The Feather Thief" and "The Great Mars Hill Bank Robbery" are the last two good books I've read. Both were entertaining and pretty quick reading. "The Long Walk" is a book I leant out to a friend and has been making the rounds amongst everyone for the last year now. An excellent read and incredible story.

Totally off topic, but I believe Gander is where an aircraft carrying nearly a battalion of the 101st crashed coming back from assignment in Sinai, Egypt. Back in the mid 80s. Killed all on board.
