Old school here also, enjoy the smell and fall is in the air, knowing burn circles are going to start appearing in the near future.

I quit doing this years ago, figuring this as just another chore that needs to be completed as quickly as possible. Now you got me thinking maybe it's one of those things a guy should slow down and enjoy. Thanks for the reminder.

It's time. Old school here. Wood fire with a simmering pot of staghorn sumac dye works for me

I got a big pot from Cabelas years ago to short my time to boil my traps over a wood fire that will dye them, then use a LP burner to wax them after. I been doing this since I started trapping . As for conibears I just cold dip in a rubber mix with gas that I bought from the fur buyer I had deal with many years ago and bought what he had left at the time. I let those traps hang till the smell is off of gas. then done with them.

We are still in a heat wave here Trapper. I wait for that first cool spell and get the old pot out and get a fire going and make a couple of days out of it. The smell of the wood fire and the crispness of the early fall air just makes me want to puts some traps in the dirt.

Weed burner heats the barrel and the tip of the flame heats the wax at the same time it goes quick that way.

All my land traps are powder coated. So It's a few minutes to power wash and dry and set. But I do miss the fall trap boiling well I think I do. LOL

You guys have some nice set ups.
