Nice. From the pictures that old gun looks shootable. In movies the pioneer family had Winchester or Henry lever guns. Those toughs rascals that did it for real usually had a shotgun. I doubt a more versatile firearm will ever be invented than a shotgun.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

It says "fine laminated steel" so is obviously twist or Damascus. It has vent plugs on the side near the breech-a feature found only on higher quality guns. Drop the ramrod in the barrels and check the length against the outside to make sure it isn't loaded-many still are. No clue as to maker-should be on the lock plates. Need closer pictures.

Looks like a fine piece Might not have a makers name on it some don’t but definitely check the side plate I have a friend who has a Henry nock shotgun and the name is under the forend by the breech

I would be the last person to say"don't shoot it", but it needs to be checked for safety. Bore condition is one and the locks are another. Twist barrels are problematic in that there can be pockets of impurities or voids in the metal that are not visible. The quality of this gun helps in that regard. The one hammer is at halfcock-on purpose or a problem? Also these are often a bore size not common today. There are wads available in a variety of sizes from Circle Fly and track of the wolf. If all checks out then have at it.
