Could you tell us which printer you have, name and model number? For example, "HP Color LaserJet 2605"

Are you printing wireless, if so, try connecting a USB cable and see if it will print.

the new printer I just got is a Canon PIXMA TS9120 (All In One).

You are supposed to be able to configure it for wireless or USB. I am NOT interested in using it wireless, and configured it according to directions, for USB only.

I have already did this several times... to no avail.

Actor I have a canon pixma too, not that model but my issue was I couldn't connect it with usb and had to run it wirelessly. How are the ink levels? My ink went low (not out just low) and couldn't get it to work at all. I got new ink but haven't tried it since it's now in storage.

Might be a bad USB cable.

That could be. Once I had a Pixma that I failed to get plugged in all the way and worked all day at tax time trying to get it to print, when I quit and unplugged it I seen it wasn't in all the way. You might try a different usb port on your puter sometimes they won't always make a good connection. And or get a different cable and try.

I have a Canon Pixma, and the instructions must have been written by a 3 year old, they are terrible. If you have more than one USB port make sure you have it configured to print out of the port you are plugged into, or swap the cable to the other port and try again. I never had printing problems until I upgraded to Win 10. I fought mine until I finally reinstalled the printer software to get it to work, a couple of times. Are you installing the printer over the net or using a disk? I could not get it to install without using the disk.

I still think it's related to the Win. 10 update. Try the following if you haven't already done so. Note: this is not necessarily the same as uninstalling your printer.

1. Press the Windows Key (key with windows icon) and the X key at the same time.
2. On the list that pops up, click on Device Manager.
3. In Device Manager you'll see another list; click on Print Queues to expand it.
4. Right click on the printer device - Canon PIXMA - and click on uninstall.

Once you've uninstalled the printer driver, restart your computer and it should automatically install the generic printer driver. Note: make sure the printer in plugged into your computer and turned on.

If that doesn't work....

Click on the following link to download the latest driver for your printer and save the exe file to your desktop or downloads folder. (I've already checked the file - win-ts9100-1_1-n_mcd.exe - and it's safe)

http://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAwODgzODAy&cmp=ABR&lang=EN

1. Right-click on the driver setup file (win-ts9100-1_1-n_mcd.exe) and select Properties.
2. Select Compatibility tab.
3. Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
4. Let the driver install, and then see if the printer works by printing a test page.

Didn't work … win 10 doesn't even show up on compatibility (See Below)

[Linked Image]

I tried running 7, 8, 98, and XP (Ser. Pack 3) … they said THIS PROGRAM CANNOT BE USED WITH THE CURRANT OPERATING SYSTEM ……… I tried the other Uninstall and reinstall and the only thing I got different was small wind with a printer icon that Said, Device or printer (don't remember) NOT FUNCTIONING … that was new.

What size of hammer would you suggest I use on it?

Let's check to see if your Print Spooler is running in the Services.

1. Press the Windows Key and the X key.
2. Click on Computer Management.
3. In Computer Management click on Services and Applications to expand it.
4. Click on Services and scroll down the list to Print Spooler.

Under the Status column it should be Running and under the Startup Type it should be Automatic. Is that what you see?

Ok reinstalling the same program won't fix it .

Goggle how to restore to a previous date. IF the printer was working on that date BEFORE the update it will work again . You are describing the EXACT problem we had on all 3 computers in our house. I called Microsoft them selves and the tech told me this is a common problem. He told me to restore to previous date and DO NOT run /download update.... PLUS turn off the auto update feature.........

When I click on Win X, the screen opens up, but when try and click on anything …. the screen goes away and nothing pops up. Before I was able to go into settings and do a search and found what I needed this time no luck.

I completely uninstalled the whole program and started over and guess what happen …. NOT A (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) THING!!! Then I did a follow-up and redid the drivers …. same results. Time to go get drunk. At least then I would have a good reason for a headache. Oh yes... when reinstalling I got what I have right from the beginning … when I get to the 3rd step it is apparently finished installing …. It ell me to do a test print, with a start button... you can sit a wait all day and nothing happens when you push the START button.

You are close Adam about a third grader … except it is just some Chinaman. I used to be a technical writer and wrote instruction manuals. We had this old maid that was in her late 50s at the time, that I gave them too and if should understood and could perform the task, we knew we were in the right ball park.

You only have a TEN day period to go back to a previous version or so they say on their web site … Microsoft.

I just spent $100, I didn't have to spend on this printer, when it probably wasn't the printer that was bad in the first … It is Microsoft screwing with everybody.

I agree Gary. Windows 10 is terrible. You want to get together and smash our both at the same time? LOL.
