Im using a 6' piece of butcher block countertop for a bar. What kind of oil do you finish it with? I hear stain or poly is a bad idea.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

X 2 I use it on all my wood surfaces that come in contact with food. My big scrapple pot stirring paddles, cutting boards, wood handled kitchen/butcher knives.
Eh...wot?

For a bar top you don't want mineral oil and bees wax. The wood will dry out if you don't reapply often, like every other week, and you will constantly be sanding out spills and rings from beer cans left to sit overnight.
This is what you want. Nothing else.

Nowadays it just don't pay to be a good 'ol boy.

if it is for a butcher block I agree with mineral oil, but if it for a bar top, they make a clear epoxy for that purpose. ^^^ yup.
