What is there to do there? Any must sees?

I intend to try my hand at some gulf fishing. It will be my first time saltwater fishing. Any pointers will be much appreciated.

Sunblock and polarized shades for the non natives. I'm native and so dark I skip the sunblock but definitely want the shades. The glare off the water will hurt you.

Check out the FloraBama. Up in Mobile is the USS Alabama battleship and submarine USS Drum plus a good collection of military aircraft. Not far from there is Ft Conde a recreated french fort. Back at Gulf Shores hang a right to go out the Fort Morgan peninsula to see Ft Morgan and Bon Secour. If you take the ferry across or the long drive around the Fort on the other side is Ft Gaines on Dauphin Island and next door to that is the Gulf Aquarium.
You might be interested in one of the dolphin rides, tour boats that run up mobile bay some up into the delta.

Good food, great beaches! Looks like you have great weather, and with school being back in you shouldn’t have to deal with summertime crowds. Popular Touristy eats are LuLu’s and The Hangout. Good local stuff would be Doc’s Seafood Shack, and for breakfast check out Harbor Docks. Big Mike’s for a good steak.

Cobia was grand dad's favorite. I'm partial to trigger, for eating, and a good beeliner bite. Beeliners are the bream of the Gulf and on a good bite you can't hardly keep a hook in the water they hit so fast.
