I just bought that saw and I didnt get a free lead blower?? Must be a regional thing or something. I did get 12 month no interest when I put it on my tractor supply card. So far it been a nice saw the chain break is different then I am use to. I have always ran stihl. Seem to be a decently made saw time will tell I guess. One thing I may do is go to a 18" bar and I think that saw will be a beast.

be very very sure to make sure the chain brake is off before removing the side cover.

I never really thought about I just always had it unlocked while changing chains ,it but apparently enough people do it that the saw shop made a tool to unlock it when people bring there saw in like this.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

The 445 has one bolt, the 460 has two. Tighten 'em up good.

455 does have a known oil leak. 1 in 10 will leak. Half hour and some ultra grey will cure the problem. 450 do not have oil leaks. Maybe 1 in 50 and its usually the oil hose pinched on the oil pump and not sealing. Replace hose - no more leak

What I've found but I went with the 455 rancher (just a little more HP...same bar/chain as the 450).

I heat my house and shop with wood up here in MN....All winter. Can't fathom how much wood my 15 year old 455 rancher has cut, as the stove in the house is burning from late Oct through early April. I bought a new one last year just in case this one died.

Never had one issue with it....Not one (and why I bought the same saw again).

As stated, keep good (non ethanol) gas in it.

All of the homeowner saws I ever used break or wear out. i have had husky, echo, stihl, poulan, and some I don't remember. People give them to me and if I can fix them and use them till they die- great. If you are a homeowner buy it. If you heat with wood it will last 3/4 years. Even my Stihl saw is falling apart now. I like Stihl saws right now.I cut with a guy last night for two hours and he has a husky - he said he has three and the one he was using right then was the one that worked. Every time he shut it off the safety kicks on. Every time he starts it he has to kick the safety off. One of the saws had a busted part where the blade anchors to the saw - he said it won't hold the blade.

I burn wood and cut hedge posts for fence. This year I put in almost a mile and a half of fence using all hedge. Keep in mind I had to saw whole trees down to get the posts then cut up all the wood and make fire wood out of it or make brush piles. I tried skip chains, safety chains, carbide chains, and even one that the chain saw guy calls ''the amputator'' and he told me to watch out. They all work fine but if you aren't used to it an aggressive chain can kick an pull way more than a safety chain. Accidents happen fast without warning. I use skip chains on old hedge because it lets me keep my rpms up so my saw has power. The teeth don't bite as much on one wood as fresh wood. If you cut 2'' diameter or less branches with a skip chain you are asking for trouble- better have your big boy pants on.

What do you recommend for a "next-level" saw? I had the Stihl farmboss, looking for something a bit more heavy-duty but don't want to go too pricey. I cut down enough big trees that I want something heavier than a homeowner saw.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I was hoping to spend less than 600. But I don't want another saw that's going to come apart in a couple years.

PA, I went with Still 261cm....it is one of their pro models. It is light, 50cc and has a lot of grunt.....would cut circles around the old Farm boss models......did I mentionot how light it is? This still fits in your price range also. Never a bit of trouble.....knock on wood
