Have used 3 bladed Muzzy 100's for many years with great results. I used Rage's for a couple years and they performed well enough when they hit a deer but I got tired of fooling with them in the stand - seemed I could always find a way to knock one of the blades out of place, even using the collars. I think the Muzzy's deal with bone better than the mechanicals but that's just my opinion. Taking the Muzzy's up the tree Saturday morning.

When i used mech's i loved spitfires and they worked great but they got expensive when you shoot alot of does. I switched to fixed blades and i have a stockpile of magnus stingers 2 and 4 blade either work fine. The grain you choose is what you need to tune your arrows. You can use different lengths of arrow with different spines with different grain heads to get the whole rig to shoot accurately, it isnt just randomly choosing a broadhead weight. Ive used muzzys, montecs, and maybe tried a few others and magnus was my favorite by far.

^ very true. A good schooling on that subject would be a good thread and always something to learn from information.

125 Gr Rage Hypodermics. Never had the slightest issue and the animals drain out fast. All the anti- mechanical guys are telling 20 year old stories against the mechanical style broadheads. Shot through 3/4" in 8 ply plywood with no adverse effects or damage with both the compound or crossbow versions. Shot everything fixed and mechanical. To each his own and I think there are alot of great fixed broadheads and would again in a heart beat. I just prefer the RAGE. To not try all styles before deciding on personal preference is just limiting your potential arsenal.

Rage 3 blade chisel tips. Mechanicals. Been using them for years. They make a big hole and good blood trails.

Rage Extreme 100g.....I’ve had 1 deer run out of sight before dropping since switching to Rage and it was just out of sight. I’ll never say a negative thing about Thunderhead’s or Muzzy's....they are what I started with 28 years ago and they are tried and true.

Fixed blade. 100 grain "Exodus" broadheads from QAD. The full blade, not the swept version. Been using them for the past 4-5 years and see no reason to switch.

Muzzy 100gr 3 blade here. I am confident when I shoot that the blades will do there job. I believe a cut bleeds better then a bullet hole. I have a stockpile of them now and just switch the blades after each kill. I will target a front shoulder when the deer is angled towards me, some mechanical broadhead shooters will shy away from that shot. I mostly hunt when it is below freezing and snowing. I don’t want a mechanical freezing up on me so I shoot fixed blades. The muzzy’s come in 6 packs for the same price as other brand 3 packs.

Fur Taker why would you say this.... some mechanical broadhead shooters will shy away from that shot. Bone is bone no matter what type of broadhead hits it. The Muzzy is a fine broadhead I used them for 20 yrs mostly. The myth that a fixed is somehow superior in strength and performance to mechanical in bone hit, weather etc is just that a 20 yr old myth. Mechanical broadheads fly more true than a fixed blade and in theory should be more accurate if the hunter does their job. Tuning a broadhead to vanes or fletchings can be a real pain in the A and I would bet that 75% of bowhunters can't perform that task accurately. Again nothing against any fixed broadhead it just bothers me that falsehoods continue to be spread.

To some of the guys that say they won't allow them in their camp that is pretty closed minded as well. I won't hunt with an outfit like that. Being that closed minded would make me wonder what else they may not be open to on a hunt that I PAID FOR. Just like them telling a client that they don't like any firearm except a Winchester XPR Hunter in 300 Win
