Amongst all the other angst on public radio yesterday, I heard about California's nutria problem and how it's "out of hand." Hmmm . . .

Apparently bounties are illegal, and now trapping is illegal?

What's the plan?

They'll end up hiring some one to live trap and relocate, for some exorbitant fee. If they do anything about it. They haven't really forwarded any fixes foe homelessness, but hey, maybe nutria are a bigger priority than people.

According to this article, nutria consume 25% of their body weight daily.

Am I getting this wrong? So they ban trapping, won't let trappers reduce the numbers and then have "wildlife biologist" do the trapping at high cost to the taxpayer.

Swamp Rats will cost millions.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Live trap, spay or nutter and release, works with other species...or maybe send them to the food pantry..

That's how the government seems to want to solve problems.

Like urban deer, instead of allowing hunting, they hire sharpshooters to "cull" the herds in the parks, at taxpayer expense.

No. You got it right. In California, the government should handle EVERYTHING.

The population is there to vote democrat and pay taxes. Thats it. The government will "handle" everything else. They will declare that the nutria like the rats and homeless are not a problem. Issue solved.

Let's go Brandon

"Shall not comply" with morons who don't understand "shall not infringe."

Seems simple enough. It IS, after all, California.

Designate the state as a "Nutria Free Zone."

Problem solved! Yer welcome...

probably figure out how to capture spay and neuter 1/64th the population , spend millions doing so , then realize it isn't working.

then in a late night session of the assembly authorize the use of poison deep in a budget bill in very vague language then hire a company to poison the "swamp rats" then when a California condor turns up dead from the poison , ban mouse traps in the state.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

That didn't take long. Ban trapping. Pay someone else to do it. Love the logic. Requesting additional $7m on top of $8.5 already green lighted.
