How can you have a "buyback" program on something you never owned in the first place ?

It makes perfect sense that a burglar, like beto, would want to disarm law abiding Americans, to prevent him and his ilk from being held at gunpoint or shot, when they are out burglarizing other people's property.

It also makes since that democrats want to disarm working Americans to make it safer to steal their money through taxes to give to non working Americans and illegal aliens, who support the democrats. What makes no sense is if we let them disarm us and steal our money, through taxes, to give to people who won't take care of themselves.

Keith

It's a trick. They'll pay full street value, he'll say.

Knowing all along that once they ban ARs, the street value will be nil.

If they ban ARs, the street value will go up because there will be limited supply. Just like how machine guns now sell for $40-$50k if you can find someone willing to part with one. Not saying ARs will be worth that much, but they won't decrease in value.

And you can bet they won't pay MSRP for them.

quite the opposite , street value with no future supply will be through the roof.

it may have to be a black market transaction but , pure black gold

So you say that illegal street deals will keep the price up? Sure, it you want to be involved in an illegal deal--and buy a gun you can never shoot at the range.

In assessing the fair market value, the government will not take account of illegal market price. No one else (insurance companies) does either.

That's not the point, as I see it, James. Why sell for peanuts when prices go through the roof in a 'different market' ? Just another perspective.

I doubt folks will be selling on any market... isn’t that the point, to keep your arms for protection against the tyrannical government?? Just saying I don’t think I’ll be taking mine to the local “gun range”...there’s crack heads there anyways..

You can try to sell on the black market and face prison time if you're caught. For maybe a thousand bucks? Not me.

Look, the government isn't going to pay anything close to the $1-2k you may have in your rifle. They'll pay like $100, some token amount. And the black market price won't help you.

Jim

Would you still vote for Beto (a Democrat with a pulse) over Trump James?

Eh...wot?

Point 1 " They " as in Government are not buying anything. The government will need a few trillion bucks more given to them to be flat broke. You are paying them to " buy " your rifle. IE you are just giving it away as the money you get for it, you gave them in the first place with your taxes.
Then there is this pesky thing called the constitution that is getting in the way of said ban. precedent cases in the supreme court state that even the black rifles are covered under the 2A so any law that robber Francis wants to pass along those lines is nil and void at the starting block.
If they actually went through with this bs, There would be a lot of lives lost in the process. They may get to kick a few doors down and confiscate some rifles, then word gets around and the fight will be taken to those that are going along with the confiscations. Or does anyone think that folks are just going to sit at home and wait till the brown shirts come around to getting what is not theirs. Every cop in the country would have a target nail to his cruiser. It would get messy real quick I would think.
The democrats may just be to dumb to see that far in front of their noses though.
