They have a new and improved version now on test in Los Angeles. Some officers complained about the sudden jolt when they get to the end of the extension cord.

it all depends are you a battery half full or half empty kind of person.
I am always a battery half empty believer.
that 2nd half always goes faster. because it isn't half on most devices, my phone quits functioning at 14% so it is 36% till reduced performance and if you need to make a call below 5 % you better be a mighty quick talker.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I look forward to the day when electric cars are as dependable and affordable as those with internal combustion engines. They absolutely will be someday, but it's going to be a while. The battery technology isn't anywhere near there yet, along with charging issues, namely length of time to recharge, and electric grid capacity to power all those rechargers. We'll get there someday, just not yet. People that scoff at electric vehicles are no different than people that scoffed at gas cars when they first came on the scene. People thought cars would never replace horses because cars were unreliable, slow, hard to fix and refuel, blah blah blah. It's the same now with electric vehicles.

Going to be a while til I trust a battery to move my truck through packed snow in 30 below weather. Cold weather is another issue with batteries. We have Nissan leaf in our fleet, and in cold weather, it has a range of like 80 miles on a full charge. It also takes 72 hours (3 days!!!!) to charge with the 110V charger.

My gripe with the so called clean electric vehicles is that ya just have the smoke come out in a different place. In fact they burn more fossil fuel than some of the infernal combustion engines made today. The exhaust is just not on the car itself but on the power station.
It depends on where you get the electricity. If it's coal fired electric plants, then of course there is still carbon output. But not if it's from wind, solar, hydro or nuclear. But they still don't get very good gas mileage equivalent. One source says the Nissan leaf (pure electric) gets the equivalent of 28mpg. electric car math stuff

My gmc 2500 duramax with over 300,000 miles gets 25 mpg on the highway

Solar and wind take more fossil fuels to build and maintain than most people think.

Solar and wind take more fossil fuels to build and maintain than most people think. But just like every piece of technology, eventually we'll get to the point where they'll be efficient and cheap. Or we'll find something better.

Training ants, squirrels, or hamsters maybe lol.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....
