Anyone have a Tempur-Pedic mattress? We bought a new mattress about 2 months ago and it sucks. We are considering taking it back and getting a Tempur-Pedic? Specifically, the Temper-Lux Adapt Soft. Never thought I would even consider a $4,000 mattress, but here we are.

I tried one for the six? month trial period several years ago. I had them take it back. At that time, there was only one, and it sure wasn't soft. The wife and I agreed that it was like sleeping on a morgue slab! Now, if, they really had a softer mattress, it might be worth trying.

BTW. I need to disclose upfront that I hate trying to sleep on hard surfaces. It I wanted to sleep on the ground, I'd re-enlist in the Army.

I don't think I am alone in that sentiment. One time the wife and I stayed for a week in Barbados. On the plane out of there, it seemed like everyone was complaining about the hard mattresses that seemed to be everywhere.

I had one until my water heater blew out the line on the output and dumped a lot of water on mine. Was pretty heavy after that. That was probably 8 years old and cost me 2200. It was starting to get some defined soft spots too, even tho there was a 20 year warranty. Not sure why theyve doubleed in price, but they have. 4300 is too much, we opted for a half inner spring half memory foam with adjustable base and spent around 2200. You spend a lot of your life on a matress, so i agree should spend some money. There are so many other options than tempurpedic now for a lot less.

Never owned one but slept on plenty of them. The Ronald McDonald house in NYC has them in their rooms. They can be quite firm. Remember this.... there's no bounce on them.

You can buy a mattress made out of a very similar, if not identical, material as Tempur-pedic for like a quarter the price. My wife and I bought one for like $500, and it works great for both uses of a bed.

We have one and our next will not be a Tempur-Pedic. I don't mind it but the wife hates it. The main problem is that they hold your body heat extremely well. Too well and as a result it is hard to get a comfortable temp in bed.

After many sleepless nights on my bunk bed at hunting camp, I drove to town and bought a Sealey. Oh the pleasure.

Had one for years... Won't own another. Hated it.

They're very firm at first but you slowly sink down in them... Makes "mommy/daddy time" like trying to swim the LaBrea tar pits.

My wife and I bought one in 2014. We actually got two twins with the adjustable bases so we could each set our side how we liked it. It has been the best money I ever spent. I didn't know what good sleep was until we got it. I also have the Tempur-Pedic pillow. My bi-weekly chiropractor visits ended a few months after we got it and I actually hate sleeping away from home. If the house is cool it will be hard as a rock when you first get in it but will soften as you body head warms it.

I had a tough time justifying the price to myself but thought about it for a few minutes and figured that there was no other place that I spend 6-8 hours daily. I believe that they have a 25-year warranty as well.

I would second the trampoline idea for the same reason Mike mentioned.

seally posterpedic Best part you can choose the firmness. Got one on all our beds. If you have back trouble I suggest an adjustable frame to go under it. BEST money ever spent. Sometimes raising the head can help you to breathe also when you have a cold.
