OK I'm done!

After many hrs. of cussing, I've had it. And I don't want to rely on wax to make my traps work right!

I have 2 extremes at 4#. Roughly. Another at anywhere from 2-4lbs. It has a mind of its own.

Played with 2 more and said..... Well can't say that here..

Then I started to look at the lams. I've seen that before on other traps I bought. Not lined up.

At $32 a trap these things should set themselves.

Not sure when I'll sell these boat anchors. Maybe trade them.

WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO TRAP!

Any chance the file you are using is producing a rough tip of the pan? It just seems like if the pan is rough it would be harder for the jaw to slip off. Maybe try a finer file or something???

As seen by his post above Kendall is stand up guy. He has shown many times how to adjust them. My brother runs them. He takes them straight from Kendalls booth at the convention, adds a cable stake and sets them. No waxing no tuning no tweaking.

Not trying to be a dick, but yeah you're brother might do that, and doesn't catch anything with 10+ pan tension.

I watched Kendall on You Tube "Tune His Traps".

He set them. If the pan was too low, take a pry bar and bend the pan up to level. And I think he mentioned bow wax.

I just don't get all the fuss over trying to get the pan tension right. I have never had a problem getting the pan tension right. All I do is set the pan the level I want and that's it. I have both coated and noncoated. Have bought both new and used traps. No, I don't use a pan tension tool, but go both feel. After modifying many hundreds of traps over the years, you can go by feel to get the pan tension right.

5 traps sets on 80 yard stretch of field ditch, trapped weekends only for a month and every day the last week and a half or so. Had a couple dirt holes dug from the side, no evidence of anything stepping on a pan and not setting off the trap. 7 fired traps 6 held had a coyote waiting and the seventh was a pull out. Most likely a deer but cant be 100 percent certain.

Sell them back to Kendall and buy something else. I understand your frustrated but calm down and breath.
