Yesterday my dog broke her elbow and today I had three coyotes in traps but only came home with one. Two traps had a coyote in them and had been chewed up and scratched and catch circles and the trap was still attached to the wolf fang stake but no coyote. Another trap in a different area was completely missing, stake and all. So 2 lost coyotes and a stolen trap. Only bright side was this nice coyote I did get to put in the truck.

Thanks. Poop happens is all I can say, I guess. Catching 3 coyotes and only coming home with 1 and having a dog getting her leg amputated in the same 24 hours is rough. But I'll stop whining now. The good news is I had a coyote to skin out tonight and that my dog will be fine, just with three legs.

Dang man that IS rough. But hey, that sure is a pretty coyote. Silver lining. Dog will heal and you’ll catch more coyotes, sometimes it seems like life likes to kick us when we’re down

Catch coyotes whenever you can catch coyotes....you're doing the world a favor...at least around here you are.

Wild Idaho-bummer about you hunting buddy, she’ll heal up and will always look after you, I’m sure you’ve taken good care of her. And sucks about the coyotes. You’ll catch more. I feel your pain though. If I told ya how much money I spent this summer to keep my yellow lab alive, most people would slap me. He’s my buddy and part of our family though.

Sorry to hear about your pup! I had a tripod dog as well, they adapt great. As for it being too early, I tend to disagree, I've seen good coyotes get caught this time of year and that looks like a good coyote to me.

Only good coyote is a dead one, around here also.

I arrowed a buck about a week ago and the coyotes were on him in an hour after he was hit. Kill them when you can. That coyote looks like a good one. I hope your luck changes.
