Found this recently at a shop. Tag said “bear trap” which it is not but wondered if anyone could shed any light on its origins? Having trouble loading more than one pic but jaws measure about 11” long by 7” open.... trap from bend of spring to bend of spring about 281/2”. There are no marking visible. Thanks!

The springs are different lengths and different styles. The one on the left is longer and looks homemade. The one on the right is shorter and has more of a factory made shape and features (at least that is the way it looks in the picture).

Interesting looking trap. Thanks for posting. If you have other views of the trap, it would be nice to see them. You might have to load each picture as a separate post.

Thanks Miss. tried separate posts for more pics but keep getting told to choose file which makes me choose from an “inline” (empty) library? First post the file uploaded took me to my photos? Edit.... just put pics in new post “what is it part 2”.....😂
