"The principles’ main backers say the norms will encourage banks to pivot their loan portfolios away from carbon-intensive assets and redirect capital to greener industries."

Does that mean they will divest in petroleum-based faux fur and invest in sustainably sourced natural fur?

Wait till the first financial report after implementation hits the hands of the share holders. It'll be worth the price of the ticket. On another note. What the heck does France have to do with all this. It seems they are always out in front of these things. Funny how all they produce is pastry and their favorite word is "surrender", but we are suppose to follow them. What a joke.

This article concentrates primarily on fossil fuels and downplays the influence on other Industries that are deemed environmentally sensitive but other sources say that the agreement also also includes the divestment from the meat industry and big agriculture .the way this agreement is structured the signatory banks have to open their portfolios to their peers in order to stay signatory to the agreement. You know as well as I do that the terms environmentally sensitive and politically correct are often interchangeable to people that don't have any first-hand environmental experience beyond their Urban environment . do you think that the people that are setting the policies as to what industries are environmentally sensitive care whether it's a true Environmental problem or a perceived environmental problem like the fur industry . This agreement lends itself more to political correctness than true environmental sensitivity . I would bet that this agreement is the reason that North American Fur Auctions bank is divesting from fur and if that is the case then they are also divesting from furriers , tanneries ie BUYERS and fur Farms

Let's say you're the bank that is divesting from North American Fur auction they they are a large corporation that owes you a lot of money you have been partners for decades you have a very complicated portfolio together dissolving this relationship is going to require a lot of negotiations and what better time to negotiate then when you are holding all of the receipts for that sale or possibly even seizing the receipts for the money that is owed you I'm sure that that would be considered illegal in most countries I bet international finance law gets pretty blurry at times and would Justin. Trudeau's Administration actually prosecute an action that was taken with such moral High Ground . let's face it if big Banks always played by the rules there wouldn't be the need for so many Finance lawyers.
I know this post has a lot of speculation but no more speculation then saying North American is going bankrupt or they're just a bunch of crooks
