I just love living on the creek bottom here at my acreage...….. USUALLY. But after a 6" (or more) rain above me last nite, it seems a bit of my enthusiasm about creek bottom living has been drowned out a little. This is not the worst it has ever been. After a 12" to 15" rain in May of 2015 I kinda wondered if I should seek higher ground. It can quit anytime and start to dry out!!!! That would be great! [Linked Image]

It is turning our woods into lake front property.
I have NEVER seen this much rain over the spring, summer and fall.
If it continues into the winter I will have to buy a bigger shovel.

Curiosity, what's the box for in the gable of the house? Owls? We are just the opposite here. Not even an inch in the last month!

Yes, it can stop raining here anytime now. Whole year has been something else.

Boy, you've got that one right Zim. If we were getting this precipitation as snow, we would be in dire straits here.

I would hate to see this as snow. We had just over 5 inches in 24 hours. I'd still be diggin out of that this weekend.

Acreage? You from town? If not, don’t call it that. That’s what people from town would call it.

Elevation challenged waterway quarters? grin

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Sorry about your situation guys … I lived 8 feet from the waters edge in Florida, on a dug and bulk-headed canal. Normal water level was about 2 feet down. I made it for several years with no problem, then a hurricane went up the coast, about 60 miles offshore. That was good …. But it backed the high tide up in the St. Johns River, which backed up the water in my canal and I had 18" of water surrounding my house. It was 1" below floorboards in my house. I only lasted a couple of days, but scary enough. I am praying for all of you faced with the high water, where ever you are.

Darlingtion WI schools closed today for flooding.

https://www.nbc15.com/content/news/...dge-schools-in-Darlington-562054731.html

we don't get very accurate news out of Madistan so for October flooding they just re-used the March picture , it looks the same right no one would notice the snow banks and leafless trees in the picture.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

It’s beautiful down there. We’re as dry as I’ve seen it in over 10 years. Most creeks and ditches are dry. Poor ole muskrats.

You're on the wrong end of the state Chuckles-another 2" last night in a short period of time. Don't need any more precip until April or May.
