Last year we had a winter warm-up and I had a hard time keeping skunks out of my fisher sets. This year I may try an elevated body grip, such as a 120 in a newspaper tube or a 160 in a box cubby. I'm inclined to try a leaning pole but haven't ruled out a vertical tree.
Are these kinds of sets very effective for fisher? What's a good way to anchor all this to a tree as far as stabilizing & securement?

It seems to me the general consensus around here is that if there isn’t snow on the ground then they’re less likely to climb. This is just what I have been told, I haven’t experimented myself so take it for what it’s worth.

I have never noticed any difference in climbing do to weather conditions, snow or no snow.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.
