We were away this weekend.....and a killing frost showed up and wilted my last 3 mater plants. Still have some maters on them....some kinda red and some green. So.....are those maters still good..if I pick them and put them in the window to ripen ? Thanks

What Sundance said, Nessie Im not far from you we got the frost also. I went through the tomatoes today and picked some . We have about a 100 plants . I found some with frost damage but most are all right. Just pick them any damaged ones will develop soft spots in a few days, just toss those the rest will be fine.

Yea the frost got mine too, the protected ones are OK the ones right in the wide open froze. Out of about 100 plants, I have probably 15 left. We already canned enough and I have over a bushel of ripe ones inside now. Garden is about done for this year.

Mix up an egg an milk an salt an pepper to taste. Slice green or very firm red maters 1/2 thick. Pitch ends. Dredge slices in milk/egg mixture an roll in flour and/or bread crumbs. Then fry in 1/2" oil in fry pan till golden brown. Lay on plate with paper towel.
