Just got back from a walk in the woods with my 5 year old. We found a bunch of tiny puffballs, and shot a bonus bunny rabbit. They're tiny but good. Not all puffballs are edible, and even edible puffballs aren't edible in certain stages, but if you only eat puffballs that are completely white inside with the texture of a marshmallow, you'll be okay. No gills, no pores, smoothish skin, and a marshmallow interior=good to eat.

Chantrelle's for me are far better than all the others. But I find them in the high country, where elk used to be before wolves were dumped there.
