this is a no brainier & instantly bought for me.

PSA running a limited edition "Screw Cancer" stripped lower and $10 goes to St Judes. How can I not.

I am already planing to make it a "Go Gold" for my daughter. Gold is the color of the ribbon for pediatric cancer. I am thinking of Gold flaking the markings. Gold plating might be a little expensive. I gotta make this one special.

Thanks. Good idea on ther duacoat clear. I have a lot of ideas for it.
I would love to build a 2nd one with the same lower and raffle it off. Maybe pink? Maybe maybe gold maybe pink and gold. No idea but I would have to decide soon since it's a daily deal.

That's a cool idea, Adam. Thank you for supporting St. Jude's. Our daughter survived Neuroblastoma a little over 6 years ago. She's 7 now, and although we didn't go through it at St. Jude's, I am thankful for all of the hospitals that help families as they fight pediatric cancer.

David, thanks. Absolutely. How is your daughter doing now? If you prefer you can pm me. Because of my daughters Retinoblastoma we have met many families with kids fighting Neuroblastoma. We stayed at RMDH-NYC as treatment was at MSKCC. Most of the families there (while we were there) were battling Neuroblastoma.
When I saw this limited edition lower I had to get it.

Praise God, our daughter is doing great. She went through 3 rounds of chemo six years ago and was released from any further care after great scan/test results. All of her care was done through Seattle Children's Hospital, and we stayed at Ronald McDonald House during that timeframe. They couldn't remove the remains of the tumor because of its location, but they don't expect any future issues. May I ask how your daughter is doing?

Amen. I'm glad to hear she's doing great and no further care is's needed.
My daughter is cancer free going on 6 years (December will be 6 years). Only treatment she'll need is a new eye which she gets as she grows. We spent roughly 3 years living on and off in NYC. Then it dwindled down to 1 visit a yr, now no more visits other than her fake eye replacement

Bravo! St. Jude’s is my favorite charity. In addition to being a wonderful cause, THEY ACTUALLY USE THE MONEY TO HELP KIDS. None of this $0.02 on the dollar goes towards what it was donated for. They are a great organization and well run.

You can have it stripped and TiN, ( Titanium Nitride) plated, very neat looking Gold color. Do any work BEFORE that, because the TiN coating is almost indestructable.

Looks interesting. Most companies I saw online say they can't do TiN on aluminum which the above lower is. Other parts like barrels are capable of the coating. Some of the photos look really dual even the polished version.

Adam, I'm glad to hear your daughter is going on 6 years cancer-free. Ours was just 6 years cancer-free in August. Three years in NYC would have been tough, but I know you do what ya gotta do in situations like that. Lookin' forward to seeing that AR build once you're done!

Aluminum can be anodized in an amazing array of colors, not sure about Gold, but you can check it out.

David, Thanks. That is awesome. It was tough, constantly back and forth to NYC with 2 little ones and all day flying. "cabin fever" from the city, I wouldn't trade it for the world and would do it again in a heartbeat. I am excited too. It will be a labor of love for sure and something that I will be happy to give her one day. I doubt it will be ready in time for her 11th birthday in December or Christmas.

BigBob, that is good to know. I will keep looking. Do you know of any good companies that do great work?

Machine Job Shop I worked did many jobs with TiN coating and anodizing, but don't know any names. I was an Indian, not chief! LOL I expect you can Google some local co's or maybe ship a way's off pretty cheap.

Just googled "Titanium Nitride Plating, Wikipedia", and it say you can do that process on Aluminum. If you do so, It will have tendency to makes hole a bit smaller and other machined features "Shrink", and will be IMPOSSIBLE TO RESTORE. Check with the Plate shop about this BEFORE doing it.
