I remember back in the day seeing a car go through my town with no fenders, front or back. Saw a kid on the hood of his moms car operating the wipers by hand in a torrential downpour. Myself, I rode on the hood of my buddies car about 5 miles from one town to the next, he was going fast and it was broad daylight. Cant help but think what the oncoming traffic thought of that......

A mechanic I used to work with had boot laces tied to the throttle linkage under the hood after the cable from the pedal to the engine broke. Laces ran into the cab through the smoker window. Pull on the string to accelerate, let go to stop.

car top surfing , they wouldn't go fast but driving around secondary streets in town standing on the roof. this was the 80s

a few weeks ago I saw a 1/2 ton truck driving down the state highway with no drivers door

stopped to help some kids last year , throttle cable broke so they asked if they could borrow a wrench , they took the hood off , one kid was going to ride in the engine compartment sitting on the front fender of this s10

I was worried I was going to hear about them on the news , with a dead kid so I lent him a tow strap so his friends in the other truck an f150 could pull him home. guy said he was dating a girl in my town , I told him where to drop off the tow strap. well you can guess I never got it back but it was old and a small loss and bonus no dead kid on the morning radio.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Back in the 70's I had a 64 Chevy Impala that I wanted to jack the back end up. I didn't have the money for air shocks so I put 2x4's between the axle and floor boards. Man that was a stiff ride. lol Once I hit a pothole and both 2x4's went through the floorboards. Lesson learned lol

up in northern Alberta one year, way back on some logging roads and two lads came by in a pickup truck music blaring. They had house speakers mounted on the hood, no windshield in the truck. One was wearing a motorcycle helmet and goggles. The other one had on an old leather flyers helmet, old style goggles and a scarf.

Just about hit the ditch, I was laughing so hard. Think they would have been around 13-14.

Had a guy glue a bunch of pennies to his car, and painted it all kinds of colors, drew trees on it, etc. with spray paint of course. Pretty sure he was touched.

Had a guy that used to ride a bicycle with one wheel on the guard rail. Named Floyd Harris. Somebody put some old film of him on You Tube. https://youtu.be/vqNoCu7k-pk

Had a guy put a fiberglass boat on a car frame and drove it around for several years. Went by Roach, not sure of his real name.

Not a car, but a boat built out of a picnic table. Technically I saw it on the road, so...

Ghost riding, Car surfing. Kids hitching (holding) on bumpers while on skateboards. Saw a man holding on the hood of his or his girlfriend's car screaming for her to stop while going 40+ downhill (I called the cops). Plenty of vehicles with ghetto diy mods (plywood spoiler, fabrications, custom paint etc...). I'm serious about the wood spoiler. 4x4 pressure treated bumpers on a truck. A neighbor of a few friends had a square body truck painted grey and he welded on fins to the body and roof and teeth to the grill and had 6" dual exhaust smoke stacks.

This weekend on the side of a major road a jeep with no front end including no engine was parked on the shoulder.

When I was a youngster I was riding my bike in a parking lot, I saw a pretty girl and just then the car in front decided to stop I hit their bumper lol.

A week or so ago I saw a Ford Bronco sitting on the side of I-35 southbound on blocks. No tires or wheels, just sitting on blocks.

I saw a DeLorean come down Main Street 2 years ago in the town I live in

Sadly It didn't fly and didn't reach 88mph, still a trill to see

More than once I see the proverbial car along the road with a missing tire and no jack holding it up. Whats up with that?

Guy next door to my hunting cabin had an old flatbed truck that the fuel pump went out. He wired a plastic gas can to the roof, shot a hole thru the hood with a .38, and ran a hose down to the carb!

Was hanging up the gas nozzle at Costco a car pulls up to the other side of the pump and I notice 2" flex duct pipe as the exhaust. Didn't have my phone or I would've taken a pic.

When I was just back from the service and going to school, ('74), I hung a piece of 4" well casing on the exhaust manifold and wired it in place for an exhaust system, worked, didn't kill me, and really sounded great!

Might not be crazy although I think it is. I just bought a 1983 AMC Eagle yesterday. I paid $100 for it and it is in amazing condition. A guy bought it with intention of restoring it completely. He has extre door for the one with a small rust hole in it and new bumpers and the rubber bumper pieces. It was in his garage the past twenty years. Need new gas lines and brake lines to be drivable. Be tried to sell it for more but nobody would even come look at it. Thank you for not people...

Wish I had more time to trap....

We use to start our sprintcar on the road. That would make some people do a double take at first. Lol

A guy up near Duluth (]Carlton? Proctor) had multiple DWI's and therefore, no drivers license.

He motorized a reclining chair and drove it to the bar. He not only got another DWI, but, had his chair impounded. The last I heard, the city was auctioning it off.
