I have been wanting to make one for a while. I figured I'd use Baltic Birch ply though.

Nice work on that one

I think I said I'd post a picture of the tools I used. Here they are.
[Linked Image]This is an overview of them
[Linked Image]The bench planes. A fore plane, try plane, and two smoothers,
[Linked Image]Mallets and winding sticks. I made these, as well. The winding sticks are to check for twist in the lumber
[Linked Image]A 22 inch, 10 point crosscut; a 20 inch, 5 1/2 point rip; and a 14 inch, 14 point tenon saw.
[Linked Image]Layout tools, chisels. and screwdrivers. I forgot to include the sliding bevel in the pic.

That is awesome. I’m slowly moving from power tools and lord I am not good at all. I guess getting older I enjoy the tedious chisel work and satisfaction on the rare tight fit. Now the simplest projects are fun again. very nice work right there.....shane

When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.
