Sounds like you need a shot of Freon. Good luck finding a mach for an older unit, but, It may be compatible with the new types.

Is the compressor really hot to the touch? Have you had a power outage or power on-off really quickly? If not did you replace the start relay only or did you use a 3in1 hard start relay/capacitor?

Does it have a black defrost timer on the bottom if so you can turn the button in the middle manually and turn it out of defrost cycle.

If the compressor is really hot it won’t start. Can you unplug it and put a bag of ice on the compressor to cool it off. Maybe for half an hour then plug it back in and see if it starts.

Ok after it was cooled off and you plugged it back in did the compressor hum and make a single click noise. If it did the compressor is no good. It would also get really hot again. Because it was hot I know the thermostat was sending power to the compressor and it should’ve run. Compressor could be seized,or open start windings only repair is compressor replacement.

No if it was the thermostat the compressor wouldn’t be trying to start. Sorry it’s the compressor.
