I sent about 10 years ago, took around 8 weeks or so. A friend sent one in a year or so ago it took maybe 4 weeks BUT they did not fix what needed fixing so back it went. About 4 weeks second time.

The one recently sent in could not torn the power adjustment, too much prairie dust. Not sure why they didn't fix that correctly first go around, second time sent they did but it's still tough to turn. Good scopes overall tho.

That’s why I like vortex optics. If one breaks, you take it to the nearest store that sells them and they take the old one and hand you a new one, simple as that. Can’t beat that for a guarantee. Doesn’t matter how it broke either. You could intentionally smash it with a hammer and they’ll just give you a new one.

I just sent in the scope off my Gamo pellet gun. $29.95 for a replacement and $14.15 to ship it. I'd been better off buying a $50.00 scope locally. just Negative! Ain't seen a cheap scope yet that can take a pellet guns punishment. ( spring activated).

Just sent a spotting scope to them a couple of months ago. Was repaired and back in about 16 days. Great service that is rarely needed.

Vortex started this warranty so the other manufacturers had to follow or loose a lot of business

Back in the 80's I had been a small part time gunsmith for about 20 years and had sold several Leopolds and had sent a few in for repair with no problem. Then I had a customer buy a 3X9 Leopold scope from me a few days before hunting season. He brought it back the Monday after the opener and it had fogged up. So I sent gave him a new one and sent his back to Leopold. A month later they sent me a notice it was going to cost $100 to repair because it was "abused" and that was the reason for the fog damage. I told them to ship it back since I hadn't seen any abuse. I got it back and the ONLY external damage was a 1/4" long wire scratch on the side of the scope not anywhere near a joint and it had absolutely nothing to do with why it fogged. I sent it back with a letter stating that I had looked it over and saw nothing other than the wire scratch and wanted it repaired under their warranty. They refused and sent it back. [That is when I realized they had looked up the scope by serial number and made the same assessment that the first tech had.] I then was upset so I called their customer service representative and sent it to her. She got it and wrote me the that this was up to the repair technician and she did not have the authority to override his decision. So I paid to have it repaired. I got the scope back and sold it for the cost of the repair and I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT OR SOLD ANOTHER LEOPOLD SCOPE SINCE. They are a quality scope and generally the service is very good but I won't ever deal with them again. It is only a couple hundred miles to Beaverton, OR and I thought seriously about taking the scope with me to the Leopold shop and confronting the tech but decided that would not be a good plan.
