Hello Trappers
I am (new/ not new) to trapping. I did some trapping in Pa. back in 2005. We moved to Mo. in 2007. I have since semi retired in to beekeeping and since it is a warm weather job I dug the traps out. I have 80 different traps ready to go on the ground. (all repairs made, dyed & waxed) I have been reading and learning right from wrong on here and you tube.
The one thing I have not found is what do you do with the carcasses?
I do have Bear here. One walks around my home Apiary so much there is a path just past the grounded chain link fence in the grass. I have 6' high chain link fence around the hives with a 25 mile fencer covering around 120' of fence. I have been shocked through rubber gloves.
Back to the question. Do you have a place you just pitch them ???

Beaver and rats go to draw stations for coyotes. The rest go on top of big brush piles and I burn them after the season when it is still winter.
Just passin through

I catch mostly fox some coyote, coon, skunks and possums. I have about 2 acres at my home, and it butts up against a 40 acre swamp. Everything gets tossed on what we call the bone pile at the edge of the property. Vultures, hawks and four-legged critters have it pretty well cleaned up by the following spring, just a bunch of bones left.
Eh...wot?

On one of the ranches I trap they have a pit where they bury all the livestock that dies, I got permission from the landowner to dump them there.

I dispose of all my carcasses back into the bush, generally at coyote bait stations. They provide critical winter food for other critters and birds. Nothing goes to waste in the bush.
The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

My garbage man picks up every Wednesday. The curbside dumpster and up to ten other trash bags per week.

I used to set out the beaver to feed eagles in the winter, as well as bait for coyotes, etc. Most of the other stuff I tossed on a pile on my "south 40", that was far enough from me and other folks to prevent any stinkage issues. The pile was once found by a trespassing new neighbor lady with an animal rights attitude....she called the law and tried to have me arrested for dumping the carcasses on my own land. Even told the DNR officer there were fawn bodies in the pile! She was schooled in the art of being neighborly. Her and her city raised hubby moved away not too long after that.

Dead pit, river break slide for the eagles to feed on them, draw station for snaring and the skunks go in a burn pile since they have acetone in them.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!
