I'm looking for some good books to read to my girls. Not dumb kids stuff, something they'll like and won't bore me to death while I read it. Outdoors related would be nice, but doesn't have to be. I've read hatchet to the boys, and have several books in that genre in the lineup for them, but I'm hoping to find more girly books for the girls.

I read a book called Mr. Goat's Valentine to my niece. I love goat's so I read goat books. Go to your local library and see what they have.

My girls all enjoyed the little House on the Prairie books. Maybe a copy of Curwood's Nomads of the North.

The oldest is almost 7, but she'll love something a little older. Something like Anne of Green gables or the little house on the prairie might do the trick.

We read the Bible every ight, one chapter a night. But we take a break every once in a while to read a regular book. Last time I did hatchet with the boys, and whatever little kids book the girls picked out each night, but the oldest is in the mood for something a little more mature this time around.

"Ramona the Brave" or any of the Ramona books by Beverly Cleary. Hilarious to kids 7 and younger.

Judy Blume had some pretty good books for girls that age too.

X2 I collect kids books and give them out to the kids I work with and the Ramona books or anything by Beverly Cleary is snatched up fast

Some other good ones are

The Cabin faced west by Jean Fritz

Phoebe the spy by Judith Berry

Along came a dog by Menidert dejong

X3 on the Ramona books. I believe Gary Paulson to be good as well. Incident at hawks hill is another good one.
