Sure it does....

Starting fluid ether cans have both kinds of ether in them, one was used as anesthesia but the other is not. The ether for anesthesia is more expensive, and starting fluid is made primarily out of the cheaper form of ether.

My thoughts exactly. Works 99 percent of the time and the 1 percent just be upwind and duck. Lol. I just talk to them and keep them calm. Take my time. The small ones are the ones that spray if you are not careful. I have a 3 foot homemade pole and it works fine.

I think just shooting a skunk is easier too, as long the area the trap is set in is legal to shoot in and is not an area where skunk stink will be an issue, if the skunk leaks. I have only been skunked up 4 times in many years of trapping and I have trapped and dispatched a lot of skunks.

Shooting equals spray. It is not the site or myself I am worried about smelling, the trap will smell for a very long time.

I've done it with several types of spray cans, mainly the silicon "camp dry" waterproofing stuff, without any issues. Apparently different types act differently.
