Overland Park is a wonderful place. A suburb of KC. It's where the Islamic terrorist center is, I mean the Islamic center of Johnson county. Johnson county is about as blue as San Francisco. City cops there are famous for harassing people who choose to be armed. Here in KS if law enforcement asks if your armed, and if you are, you are required to tell them.

Good grief, I wonder what would have happened back in my day with all of this crap. We used to play army at recess when I was a little kid. These days, they would probably call a SWAT team, the marines, face prison time,have us all in therapy and on meds.

I would have went to prison. marbles at recess (gambling), mumbly peg (throwing a pocket knife) Anybody else ever play stretch with a pocket knife? High school I had a gun in my pickup daily. Went out to the smoking area and had a cigarette pretty regular too. Sometimes on Friday night a bunch of us would go out on a two track someplace and drink beer and listen to a pickup up stereo till the wee hours of the morning. Whole school was full of dangerous felons.

If you had something other than a communist as governor in your wonderful state, he or she could simply state that he or she would immediately pardon any rogue charges placed on citizens by criminal prosecutors and have the prosecutor investigated and possibly brought up on civil rights charges. But you don’t. You have good ol’ Laura. In this case, Obama was correct- elections certainly do have consequences. You guys need to get busy. If conservative Kansans who stayed home on election night voted this wouldn’t be happening.

My biggest problem is this:
In a time when we are being pushed to be more compassionate and accepting, we are not allowing our children to make mistakes.

Mistakes we make are an intricate part of growing up and learning. Some of these children are making mistakes, and instead of the appropriate action, we are throwing the book at them.

With the media, and social media, we are destroying some of these kids lives.

Long story short, instead of a learning moment, we are turning them right down a bad path.

When I was in school in the early 70s, my friends and I always brought out finger pistols to school. Never got in trouble for it!

The trauma that this 12 year old girl is now going through because of the asinine decisions of these adults is the real criminal act here. She will never be the same.

badgerman you are right. Johnson county showed up on election day. So did Sedgewick and Douglas. The population in those 3 counties is only slightly less than half the state population.

Me and my buddies in elementary school used to make paper axes and guns and chase girls around and hack them to death and pump them full of lead (those were the terms we used), and never got in trouble.
