What town are you stuck in? If your stuck in south central ND go check out the lakes and ponds. I have to ask what does the duck migration look like?

We spent 5 hours yesterday going the 100 miles from Bismarck. My guess is that the ducks either froze in or got blown into southern SD. It’s NASTY here!

Wow, great hunt, awesome grizzly photo and nasty weather all make for a memorable adventure. Thanks for sharing. The weather here is not particularly nice right now either.
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

If you came over Togwotee pass that bear has been seen a lot by people. You must not been able to shoot a bull on the ranch. Yep, that is where we saw the sow and cub. We could have shot bulls at the ranch and saw some HUGE bulls but I am too cheap to pay the price of a bull hunt. This was strictly a meat hunt for me.

Thanks for updating us and congrats on your hunt. That is going to be some good quality meat in your freezer that should last you and your family the next year. Really cool on seeing the grizz as well. I have never seen one that close.

That was by far the closest I have been to one and only the second time I have seen one.

I was using bear repellent so I wasn’t worried. I told my buddy they were terrified of bacon grease so he slathered himself up with it to keep them away.

Congratulations on the Elk Rob. I like Elk meat. When you quit being so antisocial you are welcome to come get some old buddy! I will give you a package of the GOOD stuff, not the neck trimming that Digger Dale is getting.

I tried dropping off a hind quarter for that one eyed trapper but he wasn’t home. Next I went to Rally’s but he wasn’t home either. I just hung that hind quarter inside the dog fence so the dogs could guard it for him until he gets back.

Thanks for the thought but I'm glad I missed you. I've never had a piece of elk meat that I enjoyed eating so no big loss. One of my friends that raises elk is getting out of it this year and offered me 1.5 year old cow for free. I said "No thanks!" You could have given him my phone number!
