I had this young coyote come in on me yesterday while bowhunting. He was only 4 yards away from me & never knew I was there. He caught a grasshopper and was eating acorns. I could have easily stuck him but would rather trap him in a month.

Last weekend was the first day of Archery deer here in PA . I was set up in a ground blind where a corn field ,an alfalfa meet a wood line .About 7:00 AM a local fire siren starting going . As it was slowly wind down I heard a sound I had never heard before .However as it began to finish it turned into a more normal barking /yipping sound that a coyote makes. Just a few minutes later I could see something moving from that direction .It was several hundred yards away so I could not say for sure what it was . About 20 minutes later I noticed a big coyote coming my way along the edge of the corn /alfalfa .It was a good size coyote and was quite gray in color . He was about 120 yards and moving steadily in my direction . As I ready myself to try to be in position to shoot if he came near enough he walked into the standing corn . And that was the last I saw of it . . Had it gotten within my range I for sure would have been taking a shot . For me that would have been a trophy . As it where it was a great experience just to hear it howling at the siren and seeing it at a fairly close range

That’s cool!! I’m with the others, I would’ve shot him. Only shot I’ve ever had at a coyote was at 30 yards and running, I got some guard hair and practice sharpening my broadhead. Hope ya catch em. Thanks for sharing the video

Cool video! Thanks for sharing. I have had coyotes about that close while turkey hunting and when they don't know you're there it's a pretty cool experience watching them.

My brother shot his second one with a bow of his life tonight. Kill'em when you can.
Ya, I agree. I have had a few opportunities through the years to arrow one while bow hunting but have not let fly. I just hate to ruin an arrow/broadhead on a stinky yote. But a dead one is the only good one though.

I had one show up close to my stand and I did not shot him.I am not going to waste a bolt and broad head on a coyote with my crossbow .I am after deer . I did watch how it work the area . nice color on it. If I where to shot a coyote I want to get something for the fur. I trap the area anyways. for every thing.
