Long time fur buyer and auctioneer loren garren died on Saturday in Goodman mo. Not too many old time country buyers left. He will be missed by many.

I don't know of any old time country buyers left in this area. Harvey Coffee, Ray Triplet, Joe Carl, Now Loren Garen all gone. Loren was an old time auctioneer that had a voice that really carried, without a microphone. you could hear him from "2 hollers"over and that is if he was trying to be quite.

i sold enough fur to him in 07-08 that i financed most of me election campaign. ole Loren supported my effort at the time....maybe that's why i didn't have a larger pile of low $ fur that you always seemed to end up with. lol

Rest in peace to All the Country buyers that have gone on. a wealth of knowledge gone, however these old buyers would have a hard time with the current fur trade, its sure not what it once was.

Doug Curtis, Joe Duryee; I don't recall all of them but there were a dozen more back in the mid '80s. Joe died just about a year ago. I believe and Doug about three years ago. Bothersome because they were none of them much older than myself.
Yeah, I was an auction of Loren's a couple months ago and he was still shouting, at his sister's place I think.
