Another great moose hunt in the books. I was asked if I would be interested in taking a guy and his daughter moose hunting the week of October 12th. I had only met this guy one time but I knew he was a great person. He owns a large hog/cattle farm here in Maine and raised 3 children on his own when his wife left. The younger child was only 4. As a single Dad and trying to run 800+head of hogs and 200+ head of beef he had no time for hunting other then on his own 1,000 acre farm. I called in a nice bull on opening day 4 hrs into the hunt. He originally passed on the bull at 25 yds after his daughter got some nice pictures and about 7-8 min of video. Then after looking at the pictures he realized he passed on a very nice moose. I then called the bull back out with some bull grunts. This time the bull was very agitated and coming hard. At 13 paces the shooter stopped the bull with a head shot.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness
