3/32 " cable or larger
Two stops which allows for max loop di 30cc and a min loop di of 8.9cm
When loop is fully closed. The length of cable from the anchor point to relaxing lock cant be longer than 1.5m
Two swivels which allow for 360* rotation each between the loop and anchor.
Breakaway affix to relaxing lock that is rated for 122.5 kg or less.

The last line.
Does this mean that BAD end stops are NOT legal ?

Equivalency for cm to in is: 1 in = 2.54 cm

So . . .

Divide the 30 cm by 2.54 cm = 11.8 in

Divide the 8.9 cm by 2.54 cm = 3.5 in

Equivalency for meters is: 1 meter = 39.39 in

So . . .

Multiply the 1.5 meters by 39.37 in = 59 in

Someone will probably catch me in some error, but that looks right. An almost 5 foot snare, with an almost 12 inch loop and a minimum diameter at the stop of 3.5 inches.

That looks right to me. The cubic centimeters quotation threw me but that's what metric does to older Americans. (me)

Canadians aren’t much better. I’m 36 years old. All of my school math/science/etc is in metric. But in life I don’t know my height or weight in metric for example. I’m 6 foot 190lbs. And that’s how everyone talks here. Driving is all metric. But then I’ve been a carpenter on and off for 20 years and have never worked in metric or with anyone that worked in metric.

It’s complicated. Some things have gone metric. Some things haven’t. And everyone’s on the same page. Depending on what youre discussing you will both us the same language. Celsius for anyone under 50ish. My parents use both.

Metric for liquids like milk usually. Either or for weights of things like meat.

Lol. Don’t let ppl fool you. We aren’t that married to metric.

Schooling is entirely metric though. That’s the main difference.

Ouananiche, don't forget that any and all government construction contracts will be in metric and require the use of metric dimensions in architectural and shop drawings for all trades. Where this gets quite funny is for the mechanical/hvac guys when they have to start converting BTU to watts or CFM to Liters/sec.m2

Just happy to be here.

Oh I know haha. It’s all insane.

I’ve only ever done ground up garages/cabins and country/cottage renovations/extensions and so forth...
I can only speak to all of that having never been metric. But I realize much of that is to do with the men that brought me up are in their 60s currently. But still. Funny how bifurcated we really are eventhough most ppl think we are entirely metric when they’re not from here.
Obviously I’m not debating you’re correctness haha. It’s just even more to my point, it’s funny that the two segments of an industry would change systems.

I would have no clue in metric how to say build a garage without a TON of math. And I’ve been building them for almost 20 years.

Metric for studs is 405mm OC.

We use metric tapes here for manufacturing aluminum, but I honestly don't recall if they have the little black diamond marks for stud centers.

It can get really stupid here if they mandate the use of metric plywood instead of standard... it is just differently sized enough that if the lads at the lumber yard accidentally mix a load up it can cause problems LOL

Last summer I had to deal with a mixed stack of 11mm and 12mm OSB. I have no idea why you would even create an 1mm thick different OSB?

I've wondered how building went in other countries.

In the 80s a customer wanted Elk Corp shingles, a lot of em.
They were metric length and exposure.
You want to see a bunch of dazed and confused nail bangers lol.
I had to sit and call out conversion numbers while guys struck marks.
Metric tape measure confused the roofers too.

That was the last of those I ever did. They were made in Southern USA
if I remember correct.
