Hello all,
So either the dog or the home health nurse wife brought fleas in the house, we are assuming. Got some spray and covered almost everything. Washing all clothes and bedding. Treated dog. She sleeps in the basement. Anything else we can do? Figured there is at least a few yote skinners On here that have had this problem also.
Thanks in advance
Kyle

First off I would let your wife back in the bed, or fleas will be the least of your worries.

Sounds good Cathryn. The wife wants me to drop one of the walnuts in the yard right now. But I told her I’m waiting until morning to get the branches.

it worked for my neighbor last year whose house was inftested with fleas. her socks would be almost black with them. she has 2 German shepherds and 2 smaller dogs. all inside.

a 93 year old lady told me about using black walnuts for fleas

put them under all your furniture and beds.

my neighbor said 3 days after she put her branches out her fleas were gone.

Get a pie pan and a candle. Light the candle and drip some wax into the pan. Stick the candle in the hot wax. Fill the pan half full of water and a little dish soap. When it gets dark light the candle and set the pan on the floor. Next morning pan will be full of any fleas that spray didn’t kill

Fleas lay eggs in the carpet and furniture and most pesticides don't kill the eggs. Eggs hatch 3-5 days after being laid. You need to spray those areas again after about 4 days following the first spraying and then again in another 4 days. That will kill the fleas as they hatch and before they can lay additional eggs. Your problem will be gone if you have eliminated the source of the infestation. Frequent vacuuming also helps by removing fleas before they can lay eggs.

Give your dog flea pills that kill them and breaks the cycle. The flees not the dog! Ha Ha

You talkin' branches with or without leaves? What size? Or is it the wood or the nut itself?
I use the 'liquid stripe up the back" stuff.

I put a flea collar on my dog, I think its soresto brand? They are expensive but worth it. Tried the pills but some make the dog very sleepy. sweep the house with a shop vac with moth balls in it. I also spray the yard with permethrin when I remember to get it. U can buy it at tractor supply.
