I'm sorry, this is just too good....

Second town demands trapping coyotes...

https://www.trappersreport.com/story/Another-California-town-considers-trapping-coyotes

My biggest fear (as a layman, I know nothing except what I've seen in other things) is that they'll run the "regulation-play" which is to keep it illegal, but tightly regulate approved contract trappers while ignoring conservation.

I would say unbelievable, but it's California.

Going to cost a lot more when the first kid gets attacked/killed and the lawsuits come rolling in.

Well when its a city this big. Trapping in heavy urban areas gets dicey. I say blind snares and enforce leash laws.

So you have to wait for your dog or cat to be killed, or for someone to be attacked. What B.S. JMO

I noticed that. One would think it would be incumbent upon a journalist to at least mention this.

A journalist probably would mention it. Very few people writing for the news in today's world are journalists. They are opinion writers and agenda pushers masquerading as journalists.

Where they going to find a trapper scummy enough to trap there? They voted for it let them live with it till they change the law back

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

You might have just hit the nail on the head.

1.) Forget one's personal opinion on unions in 2019. But do take a piece of the theory for a second...

2.) What if ..... the NTA or someone were to put out a statement: essentially equating "trapping in California" as unethical (aka "scab" mentality" without saying it): Unethical AND Immoral.

Thereby stating: It Immoral to trap in California when conservation-trapping remained illegal!

Might be fun unless it legitimately ruined someone's business, then not.

I could be wrong, but I thought they only banned "recreational" trapping, but still allow ADC. Can anyone confirm or refute that?

Guys we're long past the days of long liners or govt trappers figuring out city folks pay better. By and large the current generation of NWCOs are coming in from the pest control industry or no trapping background at all.
However the better coyote and beaver guys are still us old guys but not for much longer as time catches up with all of us.

I'd trap them, and they'd pay dearly!!

Only way to show them the error of their ways is to take all their money.

Ya got it wrong, there is no way they would see the error of their ways because it’s not their money it’s ours and to them it’s a bottomless supply that they can tap into whenever and for however much they need for whatever reason

My thought is make them live their precious animals, that's how they will learn from their stupidity. They expect the ranchers to live with wolves and Grizzlies but they cant live with a few coyotes? They need wolves and Grizzlies were all the liberals that want them live.
