Was car shopping last year. Saw a loaner car a year old low mileage. Salesman gives me a price and I say deal and shook his hand. We go inside and he disappears. Comes back after awhile with a sheet with a price thousands higher than we shook on. All kinds of fees. None of them sales tax. I says no we agreed on a price. So the nasty little rat bird says I have to charge those fees. We charge them to everybody and If I don't charge you they will sue. Chased me out the door saying he could rework the numbers to what we agreed on. I made a deal online with a dealer for a new car. Worked lots better. Was easy to price shop.

Thanks for the comments. Probably the first time in a lot of years I handled something right! I’m proud of my boys and family. Not perfect by any means but good hard working guys. When I get upset with them my wife reminds me of how I was at their age!!
I show my wife which vehicle I want and then I go sit in the car and she does the dealing. I hate haggling and she could do it all day. She gets a way better deal then I ever would and enjoys it immensely. I think she just wears them down.

I sure hope that salesman has enough sense to get a new job with a good dental plan, or a better attitude. He may just run into someone with less tolerance to stupid than you. Good job keeping cool on your part.
Man what a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman). I’ve only ever bought four cars from dealerships but I always had a good experience with the salesmen. I always felt like they were professional and courteous, and I’ve walked away from a couple deals. Even spent a couple days going back and forth with one salesman on a pickup and then decided to go a different direction, and I’ve seen him around town since and he always asks about the wife and kids and talks fishing with me. Guess I’ve been lucky, after hearing all your stories!
Brad, that is classic. Sorry you had to deal with a jerk like that, but it definitely takes all kinds. His actions speak for themselves.
Thanks Idaho, We are having some laughs tonight. I think I have about wore out the Little Wife bit! I told the boys if they didn’t want ham sandwiches for the next 3 weeks they should probably lay off. Lol
Bob my experience with car salesman has been Ok until today. Still trying to figure out where it went wrong. Maybe Yes sir, No sir doesn’t go as far as it used to. Kinda crazy. I told my dad the story, and he said that’s the guy that puts you on the six o’clock news! I had the same thought about 5 minutes into our Little argument
What to do? What to do? Clearly one cannot win an argument with a fellow like that, and certainly one would not tend to be in a buying mood with a guy like that. Given this, it may have been a good time to walk up close to the guy with a sincere, warming smile on your face and bring the guy in and give him a big hug, and whisper into his ear, "Its going to be OK. Its not your fault. Its not your fault. Its not your fault." As he tries to pull away, keep him in there and tell him, "No. No. You stay right here. Its going to be alright." This will end with one of two results. 1) He will pull free and run away. A win for you. 2) He will act violently and swing on you. Another win for you, as it will give you license to wear him out up one side and down the other just as he deserves for disrespecting you and your family.

Life review, bad temper, lies to people to make a living, on meds. I was just wondering where in Dorothy's Kansas does he go for his yellow brick road next job with a resume and persona like that?
