Is it me or does the start of the 2019/20 season seem a whole lot more subdued than last year? There was a couple of "state" threads going already by this time in October, plus other stuff, people were pumped. There have been some higher elevation Western posts showing up for some yotes but that seems about it it. I'm sure the NAFA debacle has put a damper on the mood among other things. Our water season starts on Nov 2, I hope to have some mrat action going, been some time since I've wandered around in waders. Don't know if I can still do it without cramping up. We'll see...

Have 7 coons, 3 coyotes and 2 skunks so far. I don't let the NAFA stuff get me down or discouraged. I just enjoy setting steel. Don't have very many traps out now but plan on getting many more out this weekend.

A lot of places are still wet maybe with so much crops in the fields they would just flatten your stuff with the late harvest going on shooting for Nov 1st if not sooner.

Maybe no one except me will say it but the price of wild fur has a depressing affect on a lot of trappers getting out. I see less people here requesting trapper Ed classes.

No doubt there is some of that but prices weren't exactly rosy, except yotes, going into last year as well. Maybe another aspect is the weather. Much of the Midwest has been overly wet this year. Trapping in mud sucks...

The Wisconsin 2019-2020 thread is gaining traction.

The weather in my area probably has something to do with it. We're wet. Very little sign of rats where I trapped the last couple years. I'm seeing 1/10 the huts, and my enthusiasm is about equally reduced.

Most likely the subdued value of fur cant help and with no real end to the lull.

I finally got my non-resident permit in for Wyoming Yesterday and got 3 coyote/Fox sets out one pocket set to check the prime on the coon in the area and a couple colony traps in a run i found to see how the rats look. Hooked up with a coon this morning. Will skin it when i get home and see what it looks like. [Linked Image]

Got one more coon this morning. The skin side looks good here in North Idaho as of late.

Picked up 4 coyotes this morning ahead of the rain. Definitely pumped, but hard to find time to post this time of year for me......and most any pics I'm taking are in the dark!

my pic is with the light on my phone and a handheld lol. Hope to here about your coyotes on the podcast. You seemed pretty pumped about getting into a good predator line this year. I am as well. One night in haven't connected yet.
