Its amazing how much neglect they can handle and keep on ticking

sometimes a simple software update or reset will fix the mtronic.

Manual reset.
Start on choke.
Let run for 90 seconds on choke.
Shut off.

Restart the saw and make 5 uniform cuts.

When I buy small outdoor power equipment, (small means 2 cycle handheld) I buy in numbers, I manage a large fleet of turf and construction equipment for a big and growing golf resort in northern mid Michigan. In this season, purchased 6 Stihl chainsaws 1 concrete saw 8 BR700 backpack blowers 8 FS 90 string trimmers, hedge trimmers, 2 BG56 handheld blowers, I have a lot of equipment carryover from season to season, also taking some out for replacement for wear and damage. I have researched over and over cost of ownership, ease of use, ease of starting, parts availability ease of training multiple crew members including new first job teens, (string trimmers and blowers only for teens) Stihl is my choice year after year, for maintaining 3 golf courses, building a 3rd, landscapes, 50 + crew. FWIW to those that care, I also use Amsoil Sabre 2 cycle oil for all 2 stroke equipment at a 100 to 1 ratio, mixed in 24 gallon batches, NOT even 1 piston, ring, cylinder, fuel system (other than air and fuel filters) or bearing issue before body of tool wears out. Yes I do explore other brands to see if they can better serve my needs. So far Stihl for last 10 years. Brush or wipe away saw dust and Line up the marks on fuel caps, they are different on saws, I will give you that,

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

I remember one time years ago going to upgrade my saws. I tried trading in an 075 stihl and my dealer didn't want it for love nor money. He would not give me 20.00 trade in money for it. It ran good, nothing wrong with it- heck it was an old saw in the 80s. Well, I wish I had it now, they bring 300-600 and have quite a following.

They do suck compared to the old style. You have to leave the tank levels slightly down when filling and they work okay but...just the other day I refilled, overfilled the oil tank, thought I had the cap locked until I saw all the oil I had just put in bleeding out all over the ground. That never happened with the old style!

Eh...wot?

I have the 362 going on year 5 now.
No complaints.
Do lots of trimming and 10 plus cords per year.
i may go one size bigger next time.
Was looking at some holzfforma chainsaws on youtube yesterday.
I could be convinced to try one of them just for grins. the price is right and the reviews are good. Lots more cc's and less money.
For an additional saw laying around it might be worth a try.

Bought a Stihl 041 Super in 1978, still have it, but it is mostly retired now. Replaced the 41 Super with a Stihl 440 Magnum. Use my Stihl 026 Pro the most.

Dont buy the holzfforma. I tried a couple of their products. I had a 24 inch bar that made 3 tanks of fuel before it started falling apart. I did several rebuilds of saws last summer. Their top end kits last anywhere from 1 minute to several tanks of fuel.

Thats the biggest reason I run stihl Ive never run a husky more than an hour or so not because of a preference but mainly because of the shop I deal with . I can get 98 link 3/8 full chisel chains for $25 . They fix stuff while i wait and charge $16 an hour for labour. If anybody is interested the shop is Brandt chainsaw in Chamois Mo

I have my dad's 041 from the late 70's. Coil went about 5 yrs ago. NLA so now the saw sits on a shelf. Was a great saw back in the day. No anti-vibration though.

Yesterday I took the 36 inch bar off the 661 and put a 25" one on it for falling oaks. It balances better like that for falling but for bucking I still like the 36. I am starting to use the 661 more and more now.
