Back in the 1970s and early 1980s, Seattle Fur Exchange used to handle a lot of wild fur. Attracted a lot of buyers from the western US and Alaska, as well as the international.

I’m not talking about FHA selling there. I’m talking about SFX Handling wild fur with their own graders, etc. in fact, SFX started as just wild fur.

One I can think of was in Denver during the fur boom days, Rocky Mtn Fur Exchange? Went to a sale there in the early 80's. Anyway they didn't last long.

Well I guess we'll have to wait and see how long this NAFA SAGA thing lasts. Might be a new story in another day or two.

. IMO. Really no fur market other than coyotes. That said I trap coon and about everything else

There is a market for speciality items like wolves, wolverine, spotted skunk, better striped skunk, etc.

What about the all the warrants issued over collusion in bidding a few years back? Isn't that why the auction went to Canada? So the outlaws could still collude rather than go to prison? Of course since then the Chinese government stepped in with their tax evasion arrests.



The first thing that happens at NAFA is your fur gets sorted by zip code. Doesn't matter where it was caught at. There are two or three fur graders and a big pile of amateurs. All kinds of shenanigans going on with NAFA grading, fur getting switched etc.
