Talked to Gary Groenewold today. He wants to extend his route through ALABAMA with a stop in the Birmingham area late March/early April. I’m gauging interest to see who all In the area would be interested in selling to Groenewold.

besides bobcat and maybe fox what do we have that is worth skinning and putting up? You wont catch me skinning and putting a beaver up for 5 bucks. Or a coyote...or an otter.

He just told me he wants to do Montgomery on a Friday, then Birmingham and Decatur on a Saturday.

He said he wants to buy green beaver and otter.

Do not want to put words in GFW's mouth but they will most likely buy beaver and otter green frozen. That is what they do in NC. If all I got to do is skin and freeze beaver, that makes it a different ball game. Been getting for $8 or $9 for grown beaver, skinned, froze. Less than 1/2 of that for kits.

Gary told us at the NC Convention that they would be buying green frozen coon in NC this year also. Do not have a price range for those.

With all that is going on with NAFA, another opportunity to sell fur is a good thing.

I see that the OP has already posted that they want green beaver and otter. Pretty sure he will want them brought to the truck still frozen.

Great, if I have fur to sell I'll give them a try. I should have a few for them.

Coyotes worth more then fox and most of your cats unless they grade 1-2 or Southwestern. Avg almost 30 on my coyotes last winter and sold a few of my grays for 6 bucks. Beaver I believe they will buy by the pound dry or so much per green hide. On beaver we keep ever thing but the guts and bones for our Lure and bait business.

If ya'll want a buyer in Alabama you better come with some hides or they will be gone like the rest of em. Just saying.
