I don’t buy the inferior genetics claim. Charles Alshiemer bought a Adirondack buck for his deer enclosure in Avoca
, NY. The buck was a spike at 1 1/2 years old. 6 years later this same buck was a 160” class buck. Granted do to being raised in a high fence the deer had superior nutrition available.

Shoot them both and eat them, and give the antlers to the kids so they can sword fight with them.
