Some dude got shot 15 times and walked himself to the hospital, and he's expected to survive. Of course he was shot with a handgun, not a rifle. There's a lesson to be learned in this story about shooting until the threat is down, shot placement, carrying enough ammo, staying in the fight even if you're injured, and the weakness of handguns. Obviously getting shot 15 times and staying up and walking is an anomaly, but still, it's not out of the impossible.

Probably. 3 weeks ago I pulled a 9mm bullet out of a car that had been shot for a state trooper. 9mm FMJ, it went through 1 layer of sheet metal, and dented the next layer but didn't go through it.

It is not what the cal is like stated shot placement . there is those shot by a 22lr out of hand gun and died. Then I had read a lady was shot in the neck by a 45ACP and live to tell .

The only lesson here is that you're making statements as if they're fact, when the fact is none of know what happened or where he was hit. I especially like how you mention the "weakness of handguns", yet there's no mention of what he was shot with.

I'm not sure why you're getting testy. He got hit 15 times and didn't go down, so it's probably safe to say he wasn't hit in the heart, lungs, or head. The article doesn't say it was a handgun, but since handguns account for well over 90% of gun crimes, it's a safe bet that he was shot with a handgun. I suppose he could have got shot 15 times in the hand with a ruget 10/22, but that's not very likely. And everyone knows handguns are weak, compared to most any rifle round. Nobody wants to get shot with anything, but most any rifle round is way more powerful than most any handgun round.

He's not getting testy, he is properly calling you out for ad libbing and your naivete.

You are right, we were shooting steel at the range, I was shooting a 22lr snub nose with a 1-7/8 barrel the steel it hardly swag. Another guy with a 22lr rifle make them swing much more hitting them in the same place. The FPS is done with a 22 inch barrel rifle, I THINK.

What ad libbing and naivete? The guy got shot 15 times and didn't go down, if you shot someone 15 times and they didn't go down, you should keep shooting. Better shot placement likely would have resulted in less shots required. If you carry a little micro 9 or 380, you likely don't have 15 rounds on you to begin with. If you yourself get shot, don't give up the fight, don' quit. This dude got shot 15 times and walked, he presumably could have fought back with his attacker.

Cole Younger was shot 11 time in the Northfield Mn raid and Emmette Dalton was shot 23 time at coffeeville and both lived to go to prison with Cole Younger managing to escape from town though he was captured later

A bit more recently back in the early 90s there was an incident where a homeless man attacked a policeman with a machete and was shot at about 40 feet or so with a 12 gauge slug through the chest and still managed to close with the officer and seriously cut him up

Unless you hit a major bone or organ such as the heart, or spine brain or lungs a person can often still be up and still shooting

Unless you kill them immediately if they get to a hospital the chances of surviving are very good
