I am trying these for the 1st time. I have put them on the 3/8 rod and leveled the trap. When and if a muskrat gets caught will they pull the trap off the bracket or will the bracket slide down the rod. It seems like the trap will be hard to fall off the bracket. I am going to use 1 1/2 Victor coil springs. Thanks for any help.

The trap will pull out of the bracket.

Ok what is the best way to level the trap? Bend the cross of the trap or the bracket.

I file off any burs on the trap frame and then don't stick it all the way into the bracket.
