I use 22" #2 chain wolf fangs for my coyote traps and 18" super wolf fangs from wolf creek for my coon mink and what not. soil is sandy around hear and dry so need to go a bit deeper than most. Both hold well. probably overkill but i hate second guessing an anchor.

Wolf fang with 18 inches of cable. Three more feet of cable with three swivel points on the the trap.
You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

I usually cross stake 18-22" rebar but just this year have tried out Berkshire cable stakes with 15" of cable. I wondered if these earth anchors would hold well enough. They do! 15" is plenty deep enough in this Indiana clay. I think it would take a CAT dozer to pull one of them things out. Now I know why they call them "disposable". It sure would be easier to cut the loop off and leave the rest of the cable and anchor in the ground. It's much easier for me to pull the two rebar stakes.
I have been keeping a short chain on all my land sets but after hearing from some people I trust, I'm thinking of maybe trying a longer chain in the future.

Super stake on 12 inches on chain Will hold elephant and I’m not constantly re-fastening stakes The link is welded shut. Some are connected with cold (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) and some with heavy duty lock washers

15” chained super stakes are my go to. I tried shorter chains at 12” or so this year but I’m not impressed, I think I’ll add a foot next season. Absolutely no less than 3 swivels, 4 or even 5 is not too many.

I run 18" of 1/8 cable on wolf fangs for staking. Or in Rocky areas 24" rebar cross staked. 18" of MB #3 chain between stake and trap with 4 swivels and a shock spring.

I run the regular Berkshire with total finished length of 12 inches driven in about 14 inches never had a coyote pull one out. Most times I just cut and leave in the ground. Traps have 10 to 12 inches of chain with three swivels

Where he's at in the Jasper County area atleast where I do alot of my hunting and trapping, in the Jasper,Pulaski and Stark County area it's all sand/loose soil. Almost all my yote traps are double stakes, chain wolf fang stakes.
