Halloween's tomorrow, how many trick-or-treaters are you expecting, and who's dressing up? We never get very many. It seems like only about 25% of the houses have their lights on and give out candy, I'm not sure why. I'll be out with the kids; we'll hit up our neighborhood, and then I'll take the older three to go over to another neighborhood that seems to have a few more lights on every year and score some more candy.

We have a big bowl of candy ready and will have our porch light on tonight and tomorrow night until about 9:00. Some years it isn't enough, some years I get to eat some.

Haven't gone trick or treating since our daughter was 14 or so.

None, we live on a state highway out of town. If we lived in town, maybe a half dozen, town is a relative term.

Guess I really didn't answer the question......

The most I've had was probably 20 people in half that many groups. We always get relations, which are getting fewer since they are getting older.

In the 60's and early 70's when k was a youngster, we only went on Halloween night, non of this two day or delayed stuff like you hear towns announcing.

My daughter is 4 and is dressing up as Jasmine from Aladdin this year. We moved to a culdesac this year with about 20 houses on it. Trick-or-treating runs from 4-7, so I'll throw a bowl of candy on the front porch with the light on and take her around the neighborhood. Then we'll head over to some relatives where they have a lot more houses around and a camp fire in the driveway with a cooler full of treats for the adults to enjoy while the kids do more trick-or-treating.

Going to be chilly and windy, but at least the snow should be done by the time the kids are out. It wouldn't be Halloween in Wisconsin if you didnt have to wear a jacket and warm clothes under or over your costume.

Yep, costumes always had to fit over a snowmobile suit when I was a kid.

We used to get a bunch of kids one year, zero the next and it has tapered down from there as the neighborhood kids have gotten older. Grandson is coming though! Will buy a couple bags of candy selected primarily for deer season, just in case.

We have lived here since 2012 and have had 0 trick or treaters in the 6 Halloweens here. I don't expect any trick or treaters this year. My street is a little over 3 1/2 miles long with 15 houses on it. The closest house across the street is .6 miles. The next closest house on that side is about 2 miles from here. There are only 4 houses on my side of the whole street. I don't think any of the people on my street have kids either.

Not trying to hijack thread , but mischief night.......

If you have any mischievous youths in your area ( I was one once , years ago....lol) and they have 'decorated' a tree in your area with copious amounts of toilet paper as they are known to do , contact your local VOLUNTEER fire department.
Ask them if they would like a 'donation' (money) to blast the toilet paper out of the trees with their firehoses. Works well , quick, cleans up the mess, helps out your local firefighters, good training for them, flushes their tanks.

Everybody wins.

Signed , a volunteer firefighter.

Please pass the word to schools, churches , businesses etc.

We usually get about 40-50 kids. I enjoy seeing them. I liked Halloween as a kid 40 years or so ago. I like to see traditions carry on.

I drag the fire pit around to the front yard and get a fire going. then hang out around the fire talk with neighbors and pass out a little candy

12 is about normal.

This will be our second Halloween here at the new house. Last year probably have had 50 -60 kids stop by. Wife takes the kids down the street and I fire up the fire ring and hand out candy while visiting some of the other dads. I might be a little late tomorrow night since its the Last day of the extra whitetail season.

Sounds like a fire in the driveway isn't that uncommon. A good way to hang with the adults and keep warm. Definitely needed around here this time of year, temps will likely be in the low 30s and high 20s across most of the state tomorrow, and windy.

Get some here, about 30 or so depending on the weather.Poor kids really tough it out sometimes cold and wet.
When I was a kid I used to go shoot birds with the pellet gun,put them in bags and slip them into my buddies candy bags without them knowing who gave them dead birds for Halloween.
I'd go to school and say "some ----gave me a dead bird, and all my buddies would say-yea me too"

Years ago in CA we had several clients who had kids in the neighborhood. They'd sometimes let their kids go to a few nearby houses on their own and slip in our house for a quick beer.

They're trying to start Halloween here in France but only to sell candy I'm sure.

Have fun.

Pete
