Makes you wonder if the male fisher is the problem to the population....?

Neat video.Nest box should be made out of 1in rough lumber.
Squirrells are hard on plywood.

Great video , thanks for posting.

I'm a bit curious and bewildered why the creator of this video showed during the very beginning 0:05 -0:25 the guy in the video was using his ladder upside down. I could not figure that out , just strange. Sorry , not trying to sound like I'm trying to judge his actions or otherwise , but I just can't understand why. That is a telescopic ladder , I own one and they are best used upright. Not trying to judge anyone , just scratching my head going "why?"

Great video however. Not trying to bash anyone , sorry.

Good question,..I'm interested in this also. I am familiar with this in regards to marten in Mn. Are Fisher boxes better fitted for poplar/aspen stands?

Dimensions of entry?

Great Information!!! Now I want to build a couple.

You'd think that squirrel would know to stay away from it Enemy who'll eat it.

Great video! I really enjoyed that.

Boco; I have no experience of fishers, and there are no squirrels on my land. But, I do have considerable experience of pine martens and 'bird boxes'.

I have put up dozens of bird boxes ~ 1" rough ~ and pine martens will rip a 'V' shaped enlargement below the round entrance hole for the birds. Else they just tear at the hole and make the round bigger. Sickens me, every time I find it.

I've thought about this, a lot. Steel plate around the hole is industry standard, against squirrels. I have to assume that must work?

My own thoughts though have always been that a determined marten would simply seek another weak spot. Any join, maybe? I wonder how ye man theres 'Hardwood Frames' around the holes will work out?

If dealing with just single figures of boxes? I often ponder if wrapping them in weld mesh might be the thing?

Always fascinated to hear thoughts around all this.

I have a few bird boxes that are mounted on trees.
All made from 1" boards.
The squirrels (greys) love to chew on them.
