Catching a pile of fur in them...wish I would have bought more. Filed the dog end on an angle and got the pan tension good and low for fox.

Had a smoking nice eastern brush wolfy coyote today in one too. Enjoy!

Put that coyote for sale on Taxidermy.net site if you don't mind skinning for taxidermy.

That's a pretty coyote, and those skunks sure represent both ends of the spectrum stripe-wise!

I bought myself some Duke 550's too just because. Glad to hear the review on them. I plan to set them next week.

What's not to love? Other than the pan and cheaper swivels they are pretty much exactly like the MB 550.

Great looking catches. I can't wait to get out, but unfortunately the VA has me scheduled for another surgery on referral Monday. Season starts the 13th, so I don't think I'll make the opener.

Roughly 10 or more reds for each coyote. I hope you can hold that ratio or better. Here when I started trapping in this area 38 years ago that is what I was catching and now it is more like 30-70 with reds being the lower number. Much of the rest of WI south and west of me with larger fields and more open areas have even fewer reds.
I agree that coyote will be in demand by someone. That is one of the nicer ones from a color aspect I have every seen.

Are you doing any mods or pretty much going to run them out of the box?

I suspect you are wicked busy in the fur shed. When you have a chance could you please explain your method to lighten up the pan tension?
Thanks

File the notch top on a downward angle. Do it a little bit at a time so you don’t go to far. After a few you get a feel for it.

Good catches, with those number's you shouldn't be worried about saving a few bucks per dozen buying the copies when you clearly catch enough fur to use the best footholds the real MB 550's just my 2 cents worth.Great catches, keep hammering them.American made when ever possible.....

Then he'd have to change his handle to Coon MB and that would just be weird.

Eh...wot?
