The price is right for some of the spots I trap..relatively close to the hwy. I bought or traded them all used so never paid full price for them. Same deal in Oregon on some of the farm land I trapped. They seem stout but like mentioned above, one could put a little work into them if tinkering is a must.

Im looking at the one you modified. I almost wish you hadn't done that. Now I have to give it a try. Where's wolfdog?

nobody else?
I have 30, like em. I like the Vic in that model better. It's a lever thing. Switch the pans and levers and most Duke bashers wouldn't know the diff.
With production traps today, it's the location and the trapper more so than the trap. My traps don't have feelings.

Here is what I did with them, and caught several coyotes after setting them right away, but I made them up for cats, actually. I added Taos lightning springs, made the chain 30" long with a few extra swivels and two lap links at the end for double swiveling . I wish I had a few dozen more. That's the #2 wild river pan on the #3 trap, as, I reasoned that a #3 is just an elongated #2.

Good choice. But they are really cheap at conventions, $3 or$4 and jsut add springs. Those and their 1 1/2s covers most of trapping situations........jk

I've got a dozen or so, baseplated, better chain swivel set up. Other than a few coon pullouts with the offsets they work fine for me. Not lost any coyotes in them.

Has anyone used them on extended check lines? I’ll be trapping bobcat in Nevada after next season when I become a resident, running 4 different lines and checking one per day like most serious cat trappers do there.
